PI state: no, it's disparaging or whatever, is simply a reality which is better know before you go. On the other hand, if the criticism is constructive and if you know where you go you get a better service for you and what you pay to be armed with the right equipment.

I go in order.

1. Mosquito nets: to put the mosquito nets in Italy it's complitcated. because they alter the façadeand to be sure not to incur the penalty and a hefty fine, it's inevitable to requires a expensive permit. That's why despite the infestation of "tiger-mosquitoes" present for many years in the area, mosquito nets are difficult for private homes and public facilities. As far as I know, thers is no a coordinated fight for control of tiger mosquitoes. Every single attempt to do something local and private spaces is therefore insufficient.
2. Bus links between the countryside and suburban areas in Florence: these links are almost all state-funded. the ticket cost covers only a part of the real cost. and probably (lawful assumption), that is why they also travel the races are notoriously low turnout with a large bus. Connections with buses from the countrysideto the city center are intense in the mornings and vice-versa in the evenings evenings, during working days. Busses are therefore useful to go into town to avoid traffic, but are useless for other purposes. There aren't links between the inland areas such as Chianti: Ex:-Greve-Castellina Radda-Tavernelle-Barberino VE. Neither between Florence and Siena through the Chianti. You must therefore have a own means of transportation to see and travel through the coutry side: a cars, a scooters (rented on site, company Ramuzzi), a bike. With the appropriate means at Pass the Shepherds, just for your location, it is easy to reach every possible area of interest in Tuscany within 1-1,5 hours. In the country, often the distances are measured in time rather than miles or km. From here the Duomo in Florence-there are about 23 km, to make the first 17.300 takes about 15 minutes, to others, one must commend himself to the "God of traffic". In short, get the gear is quite easy to move around here taking into account these recommendations
3. Fast Internet connections: Most of the villages and inland areas of the Florentine countryside, are not served by any kind of connection. Simply no one apparently has had an interest in replacing telephone stations and cables that are sometimes there for 40 years. Only a few days ago, we were able to access with internet-key which provides us with a reasonable flow of data, however, insufficient to be able to serve customers with a wireless. Simply there are no repeaters or stations with adequate bandwidth in Mbps able to guarantee service.
4. Information about the areas and things to see: since we are in Italy and the structural organization it's just because the "party" wants and thea are not funtional functional areas such as Chianti and the Val d'Elsa are not recognized like real territories. They exist through word of mouth, some maps and private archives never updated to the present. So, who manages info and events in chianti are "APT" of Florence and Siena who work under their respective provinces. They are indipendent and they do not comuncate with each other. Noone of them (APT), comunicate even with the hotels, bed and breakfast, restaturants, and so on. What you find on line here or into anothere private site, it's just because we try to give you a better service. There is a tourist map drawn by me and then printed for the consortium "chianti promotion" that encompasses all areas evenly. You can also download or view them online on this website at the following page. Up to our press, the only reference was to the mapping of Chianti Chianti Classico Wine Consortium and its plan and that obviously did not include things to see and / or some description of the territory.

I forgot something? I hope not! But I must add that from next March, you must pay a new tax because of all these services that you never had and probably will never receive.
